Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri
Alhamdulillah, after 2 weeks of delicious mom's cookings, tonnes of kek lapis Sarawak (Sarawak Layered Cake), gallons of carbonated drinks and junk foods, I have gained weight. :P
How have your raya celebration been like? Mine's great, family get together visiting relatives and friends.
A quiet but happy hari raya that I enjoyed every moment of it. Parts of the journey was recorded here.
Kek Lapis Mint- Just imagine each layer takes about 15 to 30 minutes to cook, how long la to finish? I love the tiny hint taste of mint in this cake. Nice to eat after meal, creamy and moist.
The center chocolate colored cake- famously called in Sarawak - Hati Parek - The Stingray's Heart (direct translation :). I presumed it is called by that name judging by the color of the cake. Made from lotsa raisins, sugar, browning and some people put prunes in it, this cake takes about 8 straight hours to cook. Not so long ago, there are tales regarding this cake where some women who made this cake, got their house burnt down to the ground because they fell asleep while waiting for the cake to cook. Seriously, I don't know if the stories are true but kesian la kan, kalau rumah terbakar sebab hati parek.
Ok... That was a bit of my hari raya holidays. So back to business. I will upload some keychains nest week. So stay around ok.
